September 14th, 2018

The placement campaign at RIG started with the Oberoi Team . Team consisted of Senior Training and Operations Managers The Oberoi, Delhi. An audio-visual presentation was done by Training Manager which was followed by Personal Interviews for Jobs. Eleven final year students have been short-listed for further rounds.

July 25th, 2018

IHM RIG Held an orientation program today on 25th July, 2018 in which all new students admitted in the current academic year 2018-19 started their 1st day of studies. Smt. Rita Bahuguna Joshi, Honourable Tourism minister of U.P Govt. was the Chief Guest in the Orientation Program. The function was also attended by Shri. Shekhar Bahuguna an educationist of repute and Shri. Tejpal Singh Nagar, MLA, Dadri Constituency as a Guest of Honor. Senior Hotel Executives of Five Star hotels in Greater Noida also graced the occasion with their presence. Apart from 100 new students a large number of parents attended the function. Smt. Rita Bahuguna Joshi, Tourism Minister, U.P Govt. gave a very inspiring speech to the students. She praised the very high standard of infrastructure and academic facilities available at IHM RIG.

Mr Bhavesh Rawal, EAM & Director F&B Service of J.W. Marriott, Dubai visited RIG for recruitment of interns. Eighteen students have been selected for Food & Beverage Service Department. They have joined the Dubai property this week. Nine students ahd earlier gone to the same property. Another four students are training at Park Hyatt, Dubai.

Six of our students visited HTMi Singapore from 26th Feb to 2nd March, 2018 to do a short term course. Following mail from Singapore is self-explanatory : I write now with reference to the RIG student visit that has been ongoing this week in HTMi (Singapore). I am pleased to relay to you that your students have represented your institution very well indeed. Their attendance has been punctual, their dress and self presentation impeccable and their behaviour first class. They entered the spirit of the teaching and learning arena here well and attempted everything requested of them.

Dr. Elavia visited RIG and conducted a session for students on careers in Cruise lines and opportunities in New Zealand for students for higher learning. He was shown around the institute facilities and were appraised of the courses offered. He was impressed by the overall standards. Discussions of mutual interest were done regarding educational opportunities in NZMA, New Zealand for our students.

December 13th, 2017

RIG Institute organised a demonstration of Karcher Cleaning Systems on 13th Dec at their Greater Noida Campus. Mr. Hitesh Mathur, TGM - North & East along with Mr. Anurag Barman Territory Manager and their team brought many Housekeeping Equipments used in the Hotels today and explained where and how they are used. The students had first hand knowledge when they handled equipments on their own. The whole day training was attended by Ist year and IInd year students.

November 12th, 2017

RIG has completed ten successful years in November this year. A gala event was organized at its campus which was attended by dignitaries from India, Switzerland and Kazakhistan.

October 18th, 2017

Festival of Diwali was celebrated with Rangoli, lights, music, games, sweets and Magic show. Pooja was perormed. Special lunch with traditional dishhes was prepared by students. Games were organised. Gifts and dry fruit packets were distributed. All in all it was a fun day.

Ms. Jane Koch, CEO and Mr. Benno, Operations Manager of a hotel school, Sydney, Australia visited RIG. They were shown around the institute facilities and were appraised of the courses offered. Both were impressed by the standards. Discussions of mutual interest were done regarding opportunities in Australia for our students.

World Tourism Day was celebrated at RIG. On this occasion a poster making contest was organized. Theme of the contest was on Sustainable Tourism efforts. Five student teams were asked conceptualise and make the posters depicting the relevant concerns. The creativity was seen in good measures in the final presentation.

September 25th, 2017

The placement campaign at RIG started with the IHG Team visit yesterday. Team consisted of Senior HR and Operations Managers from Crowne Plaza, Greater Noida. An audio-visual presentation ws done by HR Manager which was followed by Group discussion and Personal Interviews for Job as well as Internships. Five final year students have got firm job offers and the internship list is awaited.

Swiss Master chef Rene Fallet was with us taking classes for our students for last three weeks. On Friday 22nd September 2017 we orgnised a Swiss Food Festival to celebrate 70 Years of partnership between India and Switzerland. Swiss Embassy officials attended special Swiss lunch prepared by our studenrs under guidance of Chef Rene.

To celebrate Onam the hostelites and the Culinary course students of RIG organized a special Saadhiya treat for all. Tender coconut water was served at arrival,

15 th August was celebrated at RIG with great fervor and patriotic feelings. Falg hoisting was followed by National anthem and patriotic songs. Special breakfast was organized and distribution of laddos was done as is the RIG tradition.

August 1st, 2017

Fresh students and their parents for the academic year 2017-18 were greeted by the RIG Management and Team on 1 st August, 2017. Motivational talks were delivered by Mr. Munish Bhatia, General Manager, Radisson Hotel, Greater Noida, Ms. Nivedita Avasthi, EAM, Crowne Plaza, Greater Noida after welcome speech by our CEO Mr. Rohit Bhatia and Advisor Mr. S. Suri. This was followed by lunch prepared by the senior students.

The companies are: J.W Marriott, Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, Radisson, Hilton, Shereton, The Oberoi, Taj, Jumerah Zabeel Saray, MoveNPick etc. The response has been very positive and RIG has already arranged for interviews of six of our students (including two female students) for culinary positions in Dubai within a week of the Chef Chandra’s visit. RIG is celebrating this year its 10th anniversary and 10th year of partnership with HTMi, Switzerland. In typical Indian tradition we organized Mata di Chowki for blessings of Maa Durga. A grand chowki was set up in the atrium of the institute. Live Devotional music was enjoyed by the RIG family after the pooja ceremony. Prasad was distributed to all. Music was provided by the famous vocalist Mr. Nagpal and his team. To rap up the event a three tier cake was cut by CEO.

This was the day when students took over from teachers. Students greeted the teachers. Cultural programme was organized by them. Special cake cutting was held. This is an annual feature at RIG which students look forward to express their gratitude and respect.

May 6th, 2017

A group of 60 students of class XII and XI alongwith 3 senior teachers visited RIG Institute today to familiarize themselves with Vocational courses available for careers in rapidly growing hospitality sector. They were shown the various training labs of all departments and then given demonstrations in Mocktail making, Cake Icings and canapés. This was followed by Do-it-Yourself session which students enjoyed. Many have shown inclination towards considering seriously Hoteliering as a career path. We wish them all the best.

A new 3 year course Advance Diploma in Culinary Arts from HTMi. Switzerland was launched in the Academic Year 2016 – 17. We started with a small batch of 10 dedicated students who were from the very beginning focused on a career in Culinary discipline. The course has been very carefully designed to ensure the high culinary standards of HTMi, Switzerland. The salient feature of the course is strong emphasis on Hands-on training within the Institute as well as in the industry. A number of Internships at reputed Catering outlets in Hotels have been incorporated in the course to ensure the skill enhancement. After finishing their Semester 2 the students will be going for their first Internship during May, June and July, 2017 in the kitchens of Hyatt Regency, International Habitat Center, Crowne Plaza and ITC Maurya.

February 28th-4th March, 2017

Five batches of RIG students visited the Crowne Plaza, Greater Noida to familiarize themselves with the operations of a hotel laundry and the Linen Management accompanied by the Rooms Division faculty. As a part of academic activity RIG organizes such Walk-through visits to various hotels for the students to get the first-hand information and knowledge about the hospitality operations.
